Fundraisers

In the past we have had fundraisers for CAFOD, Christie’s hospital, the Loreto school trip to India and the Deivadam Centre for the poor and homeless in India.  Anybody is welcome to host a coffee morning; they are well attended and are a particularly enjoyable way of meeting people in our community and for getting information on parish activities. If you are interested in raising funds for a good cause, please contact the Church Secretary or Fr. Pat to discuss this in the first instance.

Mass Bulletins and Information Sheets

Please note that apart from the Mass sheets and bulletins at the back of church on Sundays, there are always children’s sheets available, one for the slightly older children (Ichthus) and one for the very young (Look), and pencils are available also.  The children’s sheets have some information and puzzles or drawings which are relevant to the Gospel of the day and are a very good resource. Large print bulletins are also available in the porch, along with copies of the Wednesday Word.

The Church provides a copy of the Wednesday Word for every child in Year 3 at St Hugh’s Primary School in preparation for their Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist.

Mass Intentions

You can either pick up one of the Mass intention envelopes from the porch and complete it, add your offering and hand it in to Fr. Pat or the Church office, or you can go straight to the Church office.  If you would like Fr. Pat to sign a Mass card, you can either speak to him directly or leave the card in the office and collect it later.  If you have a particular date in mind, it is often easiest to speak to the Church secretary who can book it in for you.  The waiting list for Masses can be quite long, so please bear this in mind.

Parish Piety Stall

The piety stall is run by parishioners and stocks a variety of objects including rosary beads, cards, crucifixes, prayer books and so on.  If there is an item that you would like to buy that is not there, let us know and we will do our best to locate it for you.

At the back of the porch there are weekly newspapers for sale; the Catholic Times, Catholic Herald, Tablet and Catholic Universe.  There is also the day by day reflection booklet and other publications. Prices are on the products. Money for any purchases should be put in the appropriate wall box.

Special Masses

Look out for the celebration of special masses throughout the year. For example, the International Mass on Pentecost day.  This Mass celebrates the international community we live in with hymns from the different continents. Refreshments and socials follow the Mass. See announcements in the Weekly Newsletters.
