Welcome to Our Parish

Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

Following the PM's announcement on the 23rd March the Church will be closed until further notice.

Please go to www.churchservices.tv for live streaming of

Please join us for our online parish service of Stations of the Cross.  Some of our parishioners have recorded reflections for each of the stations.

This is a way for us to pray together on Good Friday as we are unable to gather in the church. More soon.

A warm welcome to the Parish of St. Hugh and St. John where we seek to embrace the vision of Pope Francis in reaching out to all members of God’s creation.

Pope Francis reminds us that the First Commandment of Parish life is ‘closeness to people’; through participation in prayer, worship and pastoral involvement we aspire to make this happen.

With Christ at our centre we hope that all who come our way will be touched by His tenderness, compassion and joy.

While the website gives you a glimpse of what we are about, please be assured of a personal welcome at all times.

Fr. Pat Munroe, Parish Priest.

Fr Pat was taken ill in early 2019.  Fr Tomasz Mamelka arrived in August and will be priest in charge during Fr Pat’s recovery.

We are very happy to welcome Fr Tomasz who spent time working in Stockport with Fr Pat a few years ago, and has come to us from Szczecin in Poland on a long-term basis.

Parish Mission Statement

To be a church where all are invited and welcomed, a joyful parish built on love of God and love of one another. To make disciples of Jesus Christ, to spread the Good News and to use our gifts in love and service of others.
