ST JOHN THE BAPTIST HOUSE  

When the Church of St John the Baptist was closed in June 2009 and the two parishes of St Hugh’s and St John’s amalgamated, the Bishop gave permission for the downstairs rooms of St John’s Presbytery to be used by that community for meeting purposes and to continue the devotional practices that were especially dear to them, notably Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, healing services and charismatic prayer. 

Eighteen months later, though, following a diocesan review of its resources and after consultation with those involved, the decision was reluctantly taken to close the presbytery as well. The ‘Living Waters’ charismatic prayer group now meets on Monday evenings in St Hugh of Lincoln Church, West Timperley, and the daily periods of Eucharist Adoration take place in St Vincent’s, Altrincham at the following times:-

Monday 6.00 – 7.00 pm

Tuesday 3.00 – 4.00 pm

Wednesday 6.00 – 7.00 pm

Thursday 3.00 – 4.00 pm for adults

                 4.00 – 4.45 pm for children with parents

                 6.00 – 7.00 pm

Saturday 11.00 am to 12 noon
